There is plenty of programming to look forward to in 2015 at the South of 60 Art Centre. There will be heritage walk tours, artist in the park demonstrations, workshops for adults and children plus an artistic woodpile competition in September.
Saturday, June 27 the South of 60 will host the event Eat Play Live welcoming the PanAm and ParaPanAm athletes with a celebration of food, sports and culture. 11a.m. Parade through Barry’s Bay followed by Food Festival (12-4 p.m.), live music and sport demonstrations, noodle canoe slalom at Lakeshore Park and Canada Day fireworks at dusk. The weekend also includes Lakeshore Tennis Tournament (June 26-28), Madawaska Kanu Centre Annual Slalom Championships (June 27), Barry’s Bay Triathlon (June 28).
Saturday, July 11 10-4 p.m. Madawaska Valley Artisan Festival Outdoor exhibition and sale of original arts and crafts in Railway Station Park, Opeongo Square, Barry’s Bay.
Friday, Aug. 14 from 10-4 p.m. the Taste of the Valley event returns. There will be 50 vendors with homemade delicacies, crafts, furniture and more in Railway Station Park, Opeongo Square, Barry’s Bay. April 17 – May 24
10th Bi-Annual Found Art Competition – Lower Gallery
This popular open art competition gives artists an opportunity to compete for prizes.
Of Cloth and Kin – Klare Yakabuski – Upper Gallery
The Christmas From the Cabin gift shop will also be back in 2015. This is a a boutique craft sale featuring the work of the Combermere Craft Cabin Cooperative members.
