Algonquin Shriners team wins 56th annual Whitefish Bonspiel

On the weekend of Jan. 27 a team from the Algonquin shrine club travelled to Barrie to participate in the 56th annual whitefish Bonspiel. Winning all three of their games, the team of Kevin Fudge, Sean Cook, Creighton Taylor, and Terry Moore brought home the championship.
According to fudge, the funds raised from the bonspiel will go towards the Shriners Childrenā€˜s Hospitals.
With the annual cost of operating the Shriners' Hospitals for Children exceeding $750-million, every dollar raised goes towards supporting world-class research, promoting top-notch medical education, and providing every child in need with innovative pediatric specialty care. Some of the conditions the Shriners Hospitals for Children specialize in, include: burns; colorectal and gastrointestinal; craniofacial; orthopedics; pediatric rehabilitation and therapy; pediatric surgery, rheumatic diseases; scoliosis; spine and spinal cord; sports medicine; urology; wounds and skin disorders.
