The Leveque Brother/Rock Breaker Bancroft Peewee Girl Jets took on the Lindsay Lynx on Saturday evening at the A.J LaRue arena. The girls were game ready and only had a win on their minds.
With the puck drop, it was evident that the game would be a battle of the best.
The Leveque Brother/Rock Breaker Peewee girls, took a early lead when Beth Brownlee chipped the puck in past the Lynx goaltender. Assists going to Peyton Armstrong and Elyse Ives.
The momentum continued through the second and then into the third period when the Jets goaltender, Courtney Semach, was outstanding between the pipes. Shutting down three breakaway plays without blinking an eye and denying any chance of rebounds.
With time quickly passing, the Lynx pulled their goalie hoping to tie it up.
Elyse Ives picked the puck up after a smart defensive play by Emily Alexander. With a quick shot, Ives found the net and gave the Jets a 2-0 win.
With this win, The Leveque Brother/Rock Breaker Bancroft Peewee Girls have successfully clinched first place in regular season!
The hardest working team in the league had an overall season of 17-2-3.
The girls will now head into playoff and playdown mode, continuing practices and taking their game to the next level.
