The 58th annual North Hastings Music Festival participants will take to area stages from Monday, May 2 to Friday May 6. In addition to being a non-competitive festival with an emphasis on enhancing music education in Bancroft and the surrounding area, the Festival also features a noon hour concerts series, daily from 12:30 to 1 p.m., at the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle on Hwy 62N, by Foodland and Canadian Tire.
The mandate of the concerts series is music you love, performed by people you know, and this year’s line-up is no exception. Monday will feature the skills of local duo C.T. Rowe, violin, and Cate Meder, piano. Singer Hannah Crawford will grace the stage on Tuesday, fresh-off successful performances at the Sudbury Kiwanis Festival. The pianists of the North Hastings Music Festival Committee will play classical piano favourites for you on Wednesday, and Thursday will bring the youthful performance of Jordan Marshall on classical guitar. Rounding-out the week’s shows will be Scott Stewart, playing some of his favourite tunes on two of the many instruments in his guitar collection.
This concert series offers something for everyone. Admission is by donation at the door. For more information, visit facebook: www.facebook.com/northhastingsmusicfestival.
