Bancroft man faces multiple chargesOn Oct. 28, Bancroft OPP officers observed a vehicle with an expired validation sticker driving in Bancroft. They followed the vehicle to a parking lot. Police spoke with the male driver, who had attempted to change seats with the passenger. Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. Police attempted to arrest the driver, who resisted. He was taken into custody, and a search produced a quantity of marijuana. The driver was taken to the detachment, where he refused to provide a breath sample. A 33-year-old Bancroft man was charged with driving with a suspended licence, having no permit, not providing insurance information, having open alcohol, having marijuana and other charges. He was given a first appearance date of Dec. 8 in Bancroft court. Submitted |
