Bancroft Theatre Guild is back

November 10, 2015

Adjust the lights, move the sets Theatre Guild is back at it with its yearly production of  Random  Acts.
A series of four one-act plays with a little music in between to beat those November Blahs.
“This year is a special addition,” said Theatre Guild president Kevin Newman, “we are featuring the plays of local playwright Rory McRandall.”
Rory McRandall is a native of Montreal and now lives in the small, rural community of Bancroft. McRandall has been writing since the age of 12 and acting since the age of 13.
Given that he has now amassed about 35 years’ experience with both art forms, it is rather surprising that it took him until 1999 to bring the two together and begin writing plays.
This collection of comedies represents his finest one-act  plays to date. The title of the collection, The Best Things In Life, is certainly tongue-in-cheek, as most of the plays are about things which are anything but.
McRandall has another collection of plays, which are not comedies, entitled Wounded The Heart That Loved You and other plays.
McRandall is married and the father of two grown children. The shows will begin at  8 p.m. Nov. 12, 13 and 14 with a  2 p.m.  matinee on the 14th.
The usual cast of character will be in attendance with BTG premieres of Lisa Star Bickert and Gerric Lee.
Tickets are available at Posies, Harvest Moon, and of course at the Box Office.
You can also get tickets on BOB (BoxOfficeBancroft.com).
“It proves to be a fun evening and hope that you come out for some entertainment. Theatre Guild has be in existence for over 40 years and we still strive to offer the Town of Bancroft and surrounding areas  quality entertainment  while offering those who are interested  a chance to  act, direct or  work back stage.
