Who’s made it to a dock, beach or a riverbank already? Maybe all three?
Was anyone else a little sad when communications in Bancroft and surrounding area were restored Sunday night (April 29)?
If you plan to participate in community Earth Day events (some were postponed until better weather) keep an eye out for plastics.
For Bancroft however — a town not much smaller than Humboldt — it hits even closer to home. Those are boys you can imagine working in local stores or volunteering at the local fire service. Those are coaches you can imagine teaching aspiring athletes from all different teams — because there’s not people with enough time to coach all the area teams but every kid in the community deserves to play, so we make due. These are familiar faces that are now missing from that community, holes that can’t be filled.

Have you ever considered how many litres of water you use in a day? Just in your morning routine: do you shower, use the toilet, wash your hands, brush your teeth, drink a coffee or two?
These types of events are resource opportunities for our hard-working but struggling community. If you can find the discretionary income to get there, or tag along with someone who can, it’s always worth it. Learning should always be free, but in a world where it’s not, we might rely on the wisdom of our neighbours.
If leading one of North Hastings’ municipalities is something you see yourself excelling at, however, there are some things you’ll need to know.
