Enterprise facilitator visits Women in BusinessNorth Hastings Women in Business, an initiative of Bancroft Community Transit's Heart of the Park and Community Futures, attracted a good crowd of entrepreneurs at its recent monthly lunch on April 19. Guest speaker for this month's event was Mary Doyle, Enterprise Facilitator for Hastings County. This internationally recognized “business coaching” program has been offered free through Hastings County for close to seven years. It is aimed at a number of groups: individuals contemplating a business, new entrepreneurs, business owners who may be thinking of an expansion, or those who are experiencing challenges. Chris Drost, Manager of Heart of the Park, was “enthused by the number and variety of women in business who came to hear Doyle. We had a great mix of entrepreneurs from home-based operators, to storefront owners to tourism operators to large service businesses and that made lots of post-event connections being made between participants.” North Hastings Women in Business got underway in the fall of 2015. Each month there have been different guest speakers or themes and opportunities for networking including fast paced speed networking, summer employment programs and subsidies, a business show and tell and more. Contact Heart of the Park at 613-332-9999 for more information about North Hastings Women in Business, or visit Heart of the Park on Facebook. Submitted |
