Another lucky Bancroft Tim Hortons employee has been selected to for the Tim Hortons Scholarship Program.

Seanna Dale from the Bancroft’s Hwy 28 Tim Hortons applied to the scholarship program by writing an essay on how to inspire team members to do their best. It earned her one of the 220 scholarships of $1,000 given out by Tim Hortons across the country.

“This is the fourth person that we’ve had from Bancroft in the last 13 years,” said store owner Glenn Keating who matched the scholarship with an additional $1,000. “[Seanna’s] an amazing person. Every one of them who has won before is just a special person.”

Dale will be attending Trent University in the fall for Indigenous studies.

Keating suggested he hopes the word will get out so more of the Tim Hortons family can apply to the scholarship.

“When something like this happens a lot of people don’t know about it. Tim Hortons always spends a lot of time not telling people about all the good stuff that they do, but they’re very cautious about boasting,” said Keating.

Applications for the next round of scholarships will open next February. Children and grandchildren of Tim Hortons team members are welcome to apply as well.
