McDonald’s plans improvements

May 5, 2016

Bancroft works manager Perry Kelly, left, and chief building officer Dale Shannick, right, discuss possible changes to the McDonald property on Hastings Street with real estate manager Ray Krupa and McDonald’s owner/operator Jamie Campbell. TONY PEARSON Special to This Week

By Tony Pearson

Jamie Campbell, owner/manager of Bancroft’s McDonald’s franchise, came to town council last week looking to make several improvements to the Hastings Street site. He hopes to put in a second drive-through lane, and put in some landscaping greenery at the front of the property. He will also install permanent seating on his outdoor patio.

The discussion led to the question of whether to limit traffic exiting Hastings Street parking lots to right-hand turns only. This will be taken up by the Community Safety and Well-Being Committee; in the meantime, Campbell will put up again try signage to let customers know that they can exit onto Cleak Avenue, and proceed from there to the lights at Madawaska and Hastings. He will also work with the town to improve the entrance off Hastings.
