The Next Generation Leahy to kick-off the holiday season

December 9, 2015

Live Celtic music, step-dancing and more cute kids than you could ever wish for will fill the stage of the Bancroft Village Playhouse on Dec. 12 at 2pm and 7pm. Doug Leahy and his wife Jennifer can’t wait to entertain Bancroft audiences with the help of six of their talented children in what promises to be a most delightful holiday show.
With decades of musical experience behind them and a focus on the beautiful music of Christmas, The Next Generation Leahy audiences will enjoy riveting pieces, traditional tunes, step-dancing, storytelling and a joie-de-vivre that makes for a truly unforgettable evening for the whole family.
Doug is a member of the JUNO Award winning group Leahy and Jennifer has played music her entire life. They both understand the joy and exhilaration that music can provide and they share their passion, tremendous experience and traditions with each of their talented children.
Ranging in age from five to 13 years of age the Leahy children, Evelyn (5), Joseph (7), Cecilia (8), Angus (10), Gregory (12) and Adele (13) all bring to the stage a level of musical mastery rarely seen in a group so young. Still in elementary school, the children are accomplished multi-instrumentalists with the remarkable ability to enamour audiences of all ages. Fiddle, cello, French accordion, piano, singing and French-Canadian step dancing all find a voice on stage with The Next Generation Leahy – bringing to life the high-energy, infectious Celtic-based music people associate with the Leahy heritage.
Tickets are $25 and are available now at boxofficebancroft.com or in person at Harvest Moon, Posie’s and at the Hospice House. The Next Generation Leahy will perform on Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
