Three people have been confirmed dead in a string of homicides that had the tight-knit community of Wilno under lockdown. The first shooting occurred at a residence on Szczipior Road in Wilno. Officers arrived on the scene just after 9 a.m. where they found the first female victim. As a result of information they received during the ongoing investigation, officers attended a second location, a residence on Foymont Road where a second woman was found deceased.
At approximately 11:10 a.m. Bancroft OPP officers responded to a residence on Kamaniskeg Lake Road where a third woman was found deceased. The suspect, a 57-year-old man was arrested at a location near Kinburn at approximately 2:30 p.m. by Ottawa Police officers.
The Killaloe and Renfrew OPP Crime Units, under the direction of A/D/Inspector Mark Zulinski, Detective Inspector Rob Hagerman and Detective Inspector Dave Robinson, Criminal Investigation Branch, with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU) are continuing the investigation.
