Traffic stop leads to impaired charge

On Feb. 27, at approximately 3:23 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jason Golds conducted a traffic stop on Moccasin Lake Road, in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. The driver of a pickup truck, a 24-year-old man of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp., has been charged with impaired over 80. The accused was released on a promise to appear with a court date.

Theft
On Feb. 22, at approximately  11:18 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Brandon Cassibo attended the Auto Parts Extra business on Bonnechere St W, in Bonnechere Valley Twp.  A U-Haul truck had been broken into, and a battery stolen.  The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Killaloe OPP or Crimestoppers.

Snowmobile Collision
On Feb. 27 at approximately 3:40 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Devin Leeworthy and Constable Andrew Wierzbicki attended a snowmobile trail south of Whitney, in South Algonquin Twp. to investigate a collision involving two snowmobiles. Officers utilized the OPP snowmobiles to assist Renfrew County Ambulance in the extrication of one male who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries.  Police have charged one driver with careless driving under the Motorized Snowmobile Act.

On Feb. 28, at approximately  9:45 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Devin Leeworthy and Constable Andrew Wierzbicki attended 60 Hwy in Algonquin Provincial Park to investigate a single vehicle collision. Police received information that a van had veered off the road and was upside down in the ditch. Police have charged the driver with careless driving section 53 of the Highway Traffic Act. No injuries were reported.
