Although there are no fireworks again this year, the Town of Bancroft has an exciting day of festivities planned downtown on Canada Day. The event takes place on Monday, July 1 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m., and features a variety of activities that will make the day fun for the whole family.
There will be kids activities such as face painting, free prize bags for the kids, as well as fun times at the playground and skatepark. The event will also feature live music performed by Reg Corey, Kirk Bates, Northbound, and The Salt Cellars. Food will be available at the Wattle & Daub including treats from Hoover Donuts, cold drinks, and a barbecue. Several local community groups will have information booths set up, such as: Think Turtle Conservation Initiative, Art Gallery of Bancroft, Bancroft Cruisers, The Bancroft Village Playhouse, and a lot more. The Bancroft Farmers Market will also be open throughout the afternoon.
***It was mistakenly reported in the Getaway This Summer Guide published in last week’s edition of Bancroft This Week that fireworks would begin at dusk, however there is not a fireworks display planned in Bancroft this year. Bancroft This Week apologizes for this error.***
